Installation Guide

Follow the simple steps below to get Leap running on your machine. Select your operating system to get started.

macOS

Download the DMG

Download the latest macOS installer for Leap. The universal binary supports both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs natively.

Install the Application

Double-click the downloaded Leap.dmg file to mount it. Drag and drop the Leap app icon into your Applications folder.

Remove Quarantine Attributes

Because Leap is currently unsigned, macOS may prevent it from opening normally. Open the Terminal app and run the following command to allow the app to run:

xattr -cr /Applications/Leap.app

After running this command, you can open the Leap app normally from your Applications folder.

Allow Screen Recording

Once Leap is launched, you will be prompted to grant screen recording permissions. Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording and enable the toggle for Leap.

Windows

Download the Installer

Download the latest Windows executable installer for Leap. Our installer is lightweight and optimized for Windows 10 & 11.

Run the Setup Wizard

Double-click the downloaded Leap_Setup.exe file. Because the app is unsigned, Windows SmartScreen may show a "Windows protected your PC" warning. Click More info, then select Run anyway. Follow the wizard to install.

Launch Leap

Open Leap from the Start menu or desktop shortcut. Begin capturing your desktop instantly without any extra configuration.
